Straight to the point

Dobre Solutions is a tech-help publisher. Some of the links in our articles are affiliate links, meaning if you click one and buy the product, we earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. That commission helps pay for the site, the writers, and the hours we spend testing gear so you don't have to.

We only recommend products we have personally tested and would give to a family member. We never accept payment in exchange for a positive verdict, and we say "avoid this" when a product deserves it — even when that costs us a partnership.

Affiliate programs we participate in

Dobre Solutions participates in the following affiliate programs and networks:

• Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com (and its international variants including amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.ca).
• ShareASale, Impact, CJ Affiliate, and Awin — affiliate networks that connect us with brands whose products we already recommend (e.g. router manufacturers, password managers, VPN providers, smart-home device makers).
• Direct partnerships — a small number of brands whose products we have long-term used and whom we work with directly.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

How we choose what to recommend

Every product mentioned in a Dobre Solutions article has been chosen using this process:

1. We identify a problem readers face regularly (e.g. "which smart plug should I buy?").
2. We shortlist products based on independent reviews, real-world reliability data, and our own long-term use.
3. We test the shortlist ourselves or with a trusted reader panel.
4. We publish the recommendation — whether or not there's an affiliate program for it.

If a product we've recommended is later replaced by something better, we update the article and (where applicable) swap the affiliate link. The recommendation drives the link, never the other way around.

What we do not do

• We do not accept payment for a positive review.
• We do not let a brand see or edit an article before publication.
• We do not remove negative coverage of a product because we have an affiliate relationship with the brand.
• We do not use "cloaked" links designed to hide the fact they're affiliate links — every one is a standard shortened tracking link disclosed here and in the article itself.
• We do not include an affiliate link in guides where doing so would be irrelevant or intrusive.

How we mark affiliate content

Any article that contains affiliate links includes a visible disclosure at the top, in the sidebar, or immediately before the first affiliate mention — usually in a highlighted box that reads "This post contains affiliate links". Sponsored content (which we very rarely publish) is clearly labelled as such and never confused with editorial content.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is designed to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising", the UK ASA CAP Code, and the EU's Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. Where the money actually goes

Affiliate revenue funds:

• Paying our writers a fair rate for the hours they spend testing and writing;
• Buying gear to test (we own most of what we recommend);
• Hosting, email, and analytics tools that keep the site running;
• Keeping the site 100% free to read, with no email walls and no aggressive ads.
